Hanwha Techwin announces enhanced warranty programme at Wisenet Conference

Over 200 delegates who attended the Hanwha Techwin Wisenet Conference held in Barcelona on Tuesday 14 March heard managing director Bob Hwang announce the introduction of enhanced warranty support for Hanwha Techwin STEP Partners.

With immediate effect, Silver, Gold and Diamond level STEP Partners will benefit from a new five-year warranty programme that covers parts and labour on all Hanwha Techwin IP cameras and NVRs, with the exception of zoom/focus functionality, pan/tilt motor assemblies, slip-rings and HDDs, which will remain at three years.

Companies who participate in the STEP Partners Programme are able to take advantage of a wide range of benefits designed to help increase their share of the video solutions market. The advantages include regular sales discount, project pricing, marketing support, technical tools and free training.

“Our Wisenet range of cameras and recording solutions have proven to be exceptionally reliable, and we’ve decided to reward the loyalty of our STEP Partners by providing them with an additional competitive edge in the form of improved warranty terms which they can offer their end user clients,” said Bob Hwang.

“This further demonstrates our confidence in the robustness of our products and is just one of many ways in which we’re striving to build a reputation for being a brand that can be entrusted to be the single source provider of high performance, end-to-end video surveillance solutions.”

While the five-year warranty is designed for Silver, Gold and Diamond level STEP Partners, everyone else can continue to profit from the existing three-year warranty terms.

New Wisenet X Series

The new Wisenet X Series introduces 26 new cameras in 2 and 5 megapixel models with H.265 transmission. They’re ‘supercharged’ by the “most powerful chipset” ever incorporated into a full camera range.

At the Wisenet Conference, the Hanwha Techwin team demonstrated how the all-new architecture chipset built into Wisenet X cameras “delivers industry-leading video performance”. Delegates were shown how they and their clients can make good use of a long list of built-in camera features.

“We believe that, given their unrivalled image quality, efficient network transmission and enhanced user convenience, Wisenet X cameras define a new standard for IP network video surveillance products,” concluded Hwang. “Together with the recently-launched Wisenet P 4K range and feature-rich Wisenet Q cameras, the Wisenet X Series provides our customers and business partners with a formidable product line-up, allowing them to successfully compete for any video surveillance project.”

Hanwha Techwin opens new demonstration showroom

Hanwha Techwin recently held an open day at its new European headquarters in Chertsey to officially mark the opening of its Wisenet showroom.

Distributors, installers and systems integrators from across the UK, many of whom were accompanied by end user clients, accepted an invitation to see Hanwha Techwin’s new demonstration and training facilities. This provided them with the opportunity to be among the first to have a close-up look at the new Wisenet X ‘extreme performance’ camera series, as well as the company’s premium 4K Wisenet P and feature-rich Wisenet Q cameras.

“We have simulated a Control Room environment within our new showroom facilities so that we can demonstrate many of the practical features built into our cameras,” said Chris Parry, country manager for the UK and Ireland at Hanwha Techwin Europe. “With cameras installed throughout our self-contained building and overlooking our car park, we’re able to show in real time the benefits that are achievable from the very latest advances in video surveillance technology.”

Sitting at the ‘Control Room’ consul, Hanwha Techwin guests were able to put a wide range of Wisenet cameras through their paces via spot monitors and a large video wall. This allowed them an opportunity to test the usefulness of analytic solutions like ANPR, people counting and heat mapping as well as privacy masking and advanced Gyro digital image stabilisation.

Commenting on his visit to the new demonstration facility, Paul Miller (director of systems integration specialist RJ Pro-Vue Ltd) said: “I was very impressed and will certainly be taking advantage of the opportunity to bring my existing and potential customers to Chertsey so they can benefit from hands-on demonstrations of the technology built into the Samsung Wisenet cameras and recording devices.”

Nick Kalsi, technology consultant for Edwardian Hotels London, also felt his time was well spent visiting the new showroom. “We are an existing and satisfied user of Wisenet cameras and, together with Mohamed Elsebahy, group CCTV manager for Edwardian Hotels London, I was particularly interested in the detailed demonstration of the new Wisenet X cameras. We will certainly consider deploying these at one of our new hotels.”

Norbain announces release of new Wisenet Q cameras

Norbain has announced the release of the new Wisenet Q cameras from Hanwha Techwin Europe. The 24 models in the Wisenet Q Series are packed with innovative features such as H.265 compression and WiseStream, a complementary compression technology which dynamically controls encoding, balancing quality and compression according to movement in the image.

When WiseStream is combined with H.265 compression, bandwidth efficiency can be improved by up to 75% when compared to current H.264 technology. This ensures that Hanwha Techwin Europe’s Wisenet Q Series is one of the most bandwidth-friendly camera ranges available.

There has been no compromise on build quality or feature sets within the 24 Wisenet Q cameras and domes. Even IR illumination is provided as standard.

Available in 2 MP and 4 MP Full-HD versions, the cameras also feature True Wide Dynamic Range, Defocus Detection, Hallway View and Lens Distortion Correction to deliver optimised images in every situation.

Defocus Detection is available on all models and recognises when a camera is out of focus. The focus of Wisenet Q 4 MP models equipped with a varifocal lens can also be adjusted over the network to reduce installation time.

Hallway View provides a highly effective way in which to monitor narrow vertical areas such as corridors, tunnels and aisles. It enables cameras which can generate images in the 9:16 x 3:4 aspect ratio to work effectively in tall and narrow spaces, with the added bonus of minimised bandwidth and video storage requirements.

Lens Distortion Correction (LDC) compensates for the image distortion that can occur with wide angle lenses.

Motion and tamper detection, PoE/DC dual power and on-board edge-based storage options, including NAS or 128 GB micro SD, SDHC and SDXC all add to the system flexibility and user-friendliness of the Wisenet Q Series of cameras and domes which have collectively been designed to provide a competitively-priced video surveillance solution for banks, the retail sector, offices, transportation and a wide range of other applications.
