ISC’s role will include providing corporate security officers for all events at the Victorian Bath House. The security team will offer a complete security service in a manner which befits this unique and special venue providing customer excellence.

Justine Shepherd, ISC’s head of operations, said: “We’re excited to be working at The Bath House. ISC will be providing discreet, professional and customer-focused solutions so that everyone involved, from the guests to the event teams and all the other members of staff have the best experience possible. As always, our aim is to keep things running smoothly and safely and to enhance the experience.”

ISC already provides services to two other iconic Camm & Hooper venues: the Banking Hall, situated in the City, which holds events for up to around 800 guests, and the Tanner Warehouse near London Bridge Station (host to a bar, restaurant and venue space).

The company also works on a range of corporate events at Wembley Stadium and provided the security support to hospitality events at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

“Every one of the venues is different, and each event is unique”, explained Shepherd. “We tailor our services accordingly, and will be developing and adapting our provision to ensure maximum customer service.”

Momentous League and Cup ‘double’ in London for event security specialist Showsec

Showsec has completed its own equivalent of football’s coveted ‘double’ by playing a key role in the celebrations for each of the 2014-2015 Barclays Premier League and FA Cup winners. The crowd management and event security specialist mounted a major operation for the victory parade to mark Arsenal’s record-breaking FA Cup triumph at Wembley Stadium just six days after the company had featured prominently in supporting and safeguarding Chelsea’s Premier League victory party ten miles away in West London.

Thousands of jubilant fans lined the streets of the capital to hail their heroes following a season in which the London rivals shared all of the domestic honours – the Premier League and Capital One Cup going to Chelsea, with Arsenal victorious in the FA Cup and Community Shield.

The victory parades gave Showsec another opportunity to demonstrate its capacity to be right at the forefront of delivering safe and secure large-scale public events in the capital, while also affording the Leicester-based business the chance to work closely with both clubs’ management teams as well as other key stakeholders.

In the case of Chelsea’s celebration, Showsec was engaged once again by Innovision, the production company with whom it has worked to deliver safety and security for a number of high-profile occasions, the most recent of which was the third stage of the Tour de France’s Grand Depart last summer.

For Arsenal’s second successive FA Cup triumph, Showsec worked with the north London club to activate an extensive crowd management and security operation within hours of the famous trophy having been presented at Wembley Stadium.

Stepping up to the challenge

The strength of the stewarding team fielded on both occasions proved to be a crucial factor in successful project delivery, leaving regional manager Steve Reynolds (who served as head of security for both victory parades) to highlight the way in which key members of the Showsec brigade stepped up to the challenge.

“This was the second successive year that we’ve had the privilege of being involved in these celebrations for the two major winners of domestic honours in English football,” said Reynolds. .”The fact that both events took place within six days of eachother and also coincided with a busy start to our festival season meant that we really had to rely on the strength of the management infrastructure we’ve been developing through our training programmes.”

On that note, Reynolds added: “It was really satisfying to see members of the team step up to the challenge and provide strong leadership for delivery of these events, even when significant challenges were presented to them. In many ways this really demonstrates the calibre of people we have working for us.”

Team effort on both parades

While Dayo Adelugba (Showsec’s area manager for West London) operated in key roles alongside Reynolds on both occasions, operations executives Michael Asimonye (dedicated to the Chelsea event) and Harry Thorn (who worked on the Arsenal victory parade) were given the responsibility of acting as project managers. There was also influential support on hand from many other members of the Showsec operation.

“It required an outstanding team effort for both parades, from all the prior planning and preparation right through to end delivery by every company member on the ground,” explained Adelugba. “The Chelsea parade gave us the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Innovision, whom we have worked with on a number of major projects in London, while we once again operated in partnership with Arsenal and their stewarding team for their celebrations.”

Adelugba added: “Both operations also involved close liaison with a number of other agencies in developing a strategy for crowd management, road closures and the creation of an environment which made these events an enjoyable experience for the fans while also being sensitive to members of the local community.”

ISC awarded security contract at Brent Civic Centre: ‘Britain’s Greenest Building’

Integrated Security Consultants (ISC) has been awarded the contract to provide a range of security services at Brent Civic Centre, the new headquarters of Brent Council which has been heralded as Britain’s greenest building and is managed by Bilfinger Europa Facility Management.

ISC is to supplement Bilfinger Europa Facility Management’s security operation by providing security teams for the building’s special events, including Bent Council-hosted receptions and public meetings, as well as an enhanced security presence in the building at key times (eg for match or concert days at the neighbouring Wembley complex facilities).

“We’re delighted to have been chosen to support Bilfinger Europa Facility Management in serving this modern and iconic building,” explained ISC’s managing director Pat Carr. “The building presents a number of security challenges, including its mix of public and private usage alongside a close proximity to two of the UK’s busiest sporting and entertainment venues.”

Carr added: “We look forward to providing a service that balances the needs of Brent Council, its guests and its VIP visitors with those of the general public who use the facilities on a daily basis. This contract represents further diversification in our customer base, which historically consists of a significant number of clients across the entertainment sector.”

Experience in multi-agency communication

Carr believes ISC was chosen for the contract because of its experience in multi-agency communication at Wembley Stadium, where the company also provides integral security services.

“As security partner at Wembley, we manage the day-to-day needs of a large complex and all of the associated challenges that come with that,” explained Carr, “whether it’s for a select few VIP guests attending a corporate function or for 90,000 people on a major event day.”

Mike Munro, account director at Bilfinger Europa, commented: “ISC’s breadth of experience, and the fact that the company already looks after iconic buildings in this proximity, demonstrates its expertise in managing diverse security requirements for complex buildings. ISC’s team is extremely customer-facing and experienced in handling a diverse range of customers in an appropriate manner. We’re delighted to be working with them.”

As part of the globally operating engineering and service group Bilfinger SE of Germany, Bilfinger Europa Facility Management is a leading property and infrastructure support services business operating right across the UK. The organisation employs over 3,300 staff, has a turnover in excess of £180 million and provides property and support services to businesses and public sector organisations alike (among them the Civil Aviation Authority, CPS, L’Oreal, BP, Barclays and Alexandra Palace).

ISC awarded five-year contract to secure Wembley Stadium

Integrated Security Consultants (ISC) has been retained as lead provider of security services to Britain’s flagship sporting and cultural venue, Wembley Stadium, for a further five years.

The venue’s operator, Wembley National Stadium Limited (WNSL), has renewed ISC’s role following over four years of successful development and investment in the 90,000 capacity stadium by the security provider, which first won the contract in a 2009 competitive tender process.

ISC’s Permanent Security Team, headed by the company’s head of operations Bob Milnes, will continue to provide Wembley with 24/7 integrity and full building security.

The company also provides corporate security for Club Wembley and conference and banqueting security at events, some of which welcome up to 10,000 people.

As part of the contract, ISC’s managing director Pat Carr remains Wembley Stadium’s operational planning consultant and part of the senior crowd safety team.

ISC managers also undertake key roles at matches and major events, among them response team management, safety officers, pitch security, corporate and VIP area security, customer services teams and stadium announcers.

Site patrols and CCTV monitoring

ISC’s operational duties at Wembley range from site patrols and monitoring CCTV to ensuring the Stadium’s environmental ‘switch-off’ policy is being adhered to at all times.

As the first point of contact for visitors, the company’s security officers place customer service at the forefront of their duties.

ISC provides 24-hour security, 365 days a year, liaising with the Metropolitan Police Service, Brent Council and WNSL Ltd to ensure the integrity of both the venue and its patrons.

This contract success reflects Carr’s own broad range of experience at Wembley Stadium, where he started back in 1988 as a car park barrier attendant, rising rapidly to become senior security operations manager in 1994.

In 2005, as head of ISC, Carr wrote security documentation and protocols for the venue, and also assessed and trained its senior crowd safety team members.

“We believe WNSL has extended our contract because the management team and workforce have a distinguished track record in helping the National Stadium deliver world class events and welcoming the biggest names in sport and music,” said Carr.

“We have totally integrated with the Wembley management team to the extent that our team is perceived as an internal department of the National Stadium. ISC’s senior management has proven its expertise in delivering a service fit for this iconic venue, and we’re proud to have been awarded the extension of the Wembley contract. We look forward to building on the strengths of this partnership.”
