Life safety expert Baldwin Boxall joins Fire Industry Association

Life safety and voice alarm expert Baldwin Boxall has recently become a member of the Fire Industry Association (FIA). With over 800 members, the FIA is the largest fire protection-focused Trade Association in the UK. Its objective is to promote, improve and perfect fire protection methods, devices, services and apparatus through training and technical support as well as assist in the shaping of legislation and professional fire industry standards.

Baldwin Boxall’s sales and marketing director Nick Baldwin informed Risk Xtra: “Our own mission has always been to supply products and solutions that set the industry benchmark and to develop meaningful relationships with our customers so that they know we are a company upon whom they can rely. We feel that the FIA reflects those values and that we and our customers can only benefit from this move.”

Static Systems Group wins Westfield M7 Building A fire alarm contract

Westfield Europe Ltd has appointed Static Systems Group as its specialist fire alarm contractor for Westfield M7 Building A, a new 14-storey commercial office development in Westfield’s Stratford City Estate in the heart of East London.  

Static Systems was awarded the contract following a competitive tender and will now design, supply, install and project manage the scheme, which is scheduled for completion towards the end of this year.  

Westfield Europe Ltd was familiar with Static Systems’ work on other large-scale projects of a similar nature. The company visited a number of ongoing Static Systems projects and was confident that the business would serve as a reliable partner to deliver the fire alarm system for the new Westfield office development.

Alex Southall, proposals manager at Static Systems, commented: “We’re pleased that our ability to deliver large-scale and highly complex fire solutions within the required timescales has been recognised. This, coupled with our design competence and ability to ensure system compliance, clearly reassured Westfield Europe Ltd that we’re the ideal contractor for this project.”

Included in Static Systems’ contract are the fire detection, disabled alarms, fire telephone, gas suppression, paging and public address/voice alarm (PAVA) systems.

Eaton Electrical Products becomes member of Euralarm

Euralarm has welcomed Eaton Electrical Products as its newest member. The company will join the Fire Section of Euralarm, which focuses on subjects including fire detection, notification and building evacuation in the event of a blaze.

C-TEC’s sister company SigNET has been appointed as the exclusive UK distributor of RCF’s new range of EN54-16 and EN54-24 certified digital voice alarm systems.
