Honeywell launches 30 Series IP cameras “to improve data and video protection”

Honeywell has announced the release of its 30 Series IP cameras: a new suite of video cameras that strengthens building safety and security through advanced analytics and secure channel encryption. With the new cameras, end users can also benefit from lower total cost of ownership and reduced risk as well as improved picture quality without increased storage needs.

“Honeywell is in the business of protection – from buildings through to data and the people within those buildings,” said Jeremy Kimber, video global product management director for Honeywell Commercial Security. “With the release of the 30 Series IP cameras, we’re providing advanced secure channel encryption that guards against unauthorised access and the unsanctioned distribution of data and video to help end users seamlessly integrate security into any business.”

HoneywellHC30Family

Honeywell 30 Series IP Cameras are available in dome, bullet, ball and fisheye models that feature:

Secure channel encryption: The new cameras provide HTTP over TLS1.2 (HTTPS) encrypted streaming to Honeywell MAXPRO NVRs. They adhere to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. Together, these elements help meet the increasingly stringent requirements being set by IT Departments to shield businesses against unauthorised access and unsanctioned distribution of data and video, potentially saving end users up to $3.86 million (the average global cost of a data breach).

Advanced motion people detection: Traditional motion detection only detects pixel changes, leading to a higher false alarm rate. Advanced motion people detection is designed to reduce false alarm rates as it will only create an alarm when the moving object is recognised as a person.

Enhanced storage space and image quality: A higher quality camera resolution of up to 5 MP delivers exceptional images and comes with a user-friendly interface for secure remote viewing. The H.265 smart codec feature allows for storage of longer clips and lower bandwidth consumption, enabling images to take up to 50% less storage space, which decreases operating costs.

The new line of cameras is fully-integrated using HTTPS encrypted streaming with MAXPRO NVRs. They can also be used with performance-embedded NVRs linked to the MAXPRO Cloud multi-site video and access control management platform and with the ADPRO XO range of NVRs complete with on-board video analytics.

With advanced analytics and encryption capabilities, Honeywell 30 Series IP cameras offer an array of quality options for all SMEs, entry-level enterprise and critical applications where compliance is essential such as banking and finance, Government, the utilities, the education sector, retail and premium commercial.

IDIS Europe’s partnership strategy pays off with reported 78% sales growth

IDIS Europe has reported record sales growth for 2018, with a 78% rise attributed to successful projects with long-term partners and continued investment in technology and support services.

Contributing to this success the company, which is Korea’s largest in-country video surveillance manufacturer, was the supplier for major contract wins in the retail, healthcare and education sectors.

Since opening its European headquarters in Brentford in 2013, IDIS has established a strong technical support team and wide sales networks and the company has worked hard to develop profitable partnerships with security installers, system integrators and distributors.

“Our core strategy as a company is to pursue sustainable growth alongside our partners as a one-stop supplier for video solutions,” urged James Min, managing director of IDIS Europe. “This means working together to ensure customer satisfaction, delivering better value and better technology.”

For security installers and system integrators, IDIS is now focusing on reducing Total Cost to Serve, giving them complete, easy-to-source video solutions that offer more profitable implementations and predictable revenue streams. Going forward this is a priority,  stated Min, and it will be achieved by continuing to invest in video technology that eliminates complexity and earns the loyalty of end users.

“The most encouraging thing is that, whenever customers switch to IDIS technology, they find that it gives them higher performance and a lower total cost of ownership. They also know that we’re working on new forward and backwards compatible technology to meet their future requirements.”

Once on board, customers tend to upgrade, but not switch away from IDIS, which is good news for installers. “We saw that with our new 12 MP Super Fisheye camera, launched last year as a step up from of our original 5 MP model. This has proven attractive for lots of our established customers as well as new users. It’s already our best-selling unit.”

IDIS_Total_Solution

For the integrator, IDIS’ model of simple-to-install technology from a ‘one solution, one company’ supplier means more realistic and attractive maintenance and service agreements. True plug-and-play performance was developed to reduce complexity for engineers installing and maintaining systems and, in turn, reduce cost and disruption for end users. The IDIS Ultimate Warranty also offers greater long-term protection for both parties.

“Anything that helps us to earn customer loyalty results in more sustainable long-term business,” added Min. “We also recognise that our installation partners make a commitment to IDIS when they invest their time on engineer training and product knowledge, so it’s important that we repay that commitment by supporting them to open up new opportunities.”

Looking ahead, IDIS predicts that strong sales performance will continue in 2019, with more major projects in the pipeline and new technology launches making it an attractive proposition to expand existing systems as well as install new ones.

Veracity set to join partners at BETT 2017 as education sector demands reliable and long-term storage of HD video

Veracity – a leading provider of innovative and intelligent solutions that solve real-world IP video challenges in transmission, storage and display – has just announced its inaugural attendance at the BETT Show.

The BETT Show takes place between 25-28 January at London’s ExCeL, and is the largest education technology event in Europe. By partnering with Kingsfield Computer Products Ltd on Stand G372 and Kent CCTV & Data Ltd on Stand E370, Veracity will show visitors from schools, colleges and the further education world that choosing to use higher definition cameras to record in much greater detail is now perfectly possible by dint of using the company’s award-winning surveillance storage product COLDSTORE.

Depending on the environment and the use of open platform cameras, it’s also possible to reduce the systems’ overall total cost of ownership by recording direct to COLDSTORE from the cameras, cutting out the additional hardware, VMS licence and energy costs of NVRs.

Alastair McLeod: Group CEO of Veracity

“No longer need you worry about reducing the recorded resolution from your cameras to conserve hard disk space,” explained Alastair McLeod, Group CEO of Veracity, to risk and security managers operational in the education sector, “or recording in high definition for short periods only. Security teams looking after retail centres are already realising the benefits of being able to record continuously in high definition, enabling them to retrospectively interrogate CCTV footage in greater detail than previously possible.”

McLeod added: “COLDSTORE’s recording design, which uses only two hard disk drives at a time in a mirrored overlapping pair sequence, extends the life of those disks considerably and reduces system energy consumption by around 90% when compared to similar-sized RAID systems.”

Veracity’s transmission products will be available for visitors to view. These include the industry-benchmark HIGHWIRE family of products, enabling the latest IP cameras to be installed over legacy coax networks without re-cabling and associated business disruption.

Also of interest will be the POINTSOURCE Wireless solution, which enables security installers to locally view IP cameras on a smart phone during installation
