Hochiki Europe to showcase latest life safety technology at Security Essen 2018

Hochiki Europe, the leading manufacturer of life safety solutions, will be showcasing a range of its latest technology during Security Essen 2018, which runs from 25-28 September at MESSE ESSEN. Solutions on display at Stand 6E30 include Hochiki Europe’s ACD-EN CO multi-sensor, the new range of short circuit isolator (SCI) sensors and FIREscape Emergency Lighting.

The ACD-EN is badged as “the most technologically superior multi-sensor ever developed” by Hochiki Europe. In addition to smoke, heat and carbon monoxide (CO) detection elements, the ACD-EN also features a sophisticated mode enhancement called +RFA. In multi-mode with +RFA, any changes to the environment will automatically adjust the alarm threshold and sensitivity of the device, therefore reducing false alarms without compromising fire response times.

HochikiEuropeSCISensor

The SCI integrated range offers specifiers and consultants an efficient, cost-effective and compliant solution to life safety. In many central European markets, including Germany, legislation dictates that an isolator is required every time there’s a change of device type on the loop. Therefore, having the SCI integrated into the sensor removes the need to buy separate SCI bases.

Hochiki Europe’s emergency lighting range, FIREscape, will also will be on display at Security Essen. FIREscape is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly emergency lighting system based on LED technology.

Speaking ahead of the exhibition, Mark Jones, export manager at Hochiki Europe, commented: “We know that, for our customers in Germany and throughout Europe, legislation is a deciding factor when specifying life safety equipment on projects. Security Essen is a great opportunity for us to showcase our extensive product range, which includes wireless, marine and aspirating technology, and to help our customers find the right solutions for their projects.”

Over 40,000 visitors from 45 different countries are expected to attend Security Essen, which will host over 1,000 exhibitors.

OPTEX showcases high security intrusion detection solutions at Security Essen

Next month, the OPTEX EMEA team will be showcasing its range of intrusion detection and perimeter protection sensors on Stand 5B48 in Hall 5 at Security Essen 2018.

The global sensor manufacturer’s stand will include a broad range of applications for its intelligent intrusion sensors and demonstrate how they can further enhance the overall effectiveness and reliability of CCTV and integrated security systems.

OPTEX will be showcasing its multi-layered intrusion detection capabilities for commercial premises and critical infrastructure sites. The company will demonstrate, for example, how a fenced perimeter can be protected using fibre optic sensors from a group company, FiberSensys. Alternatively, ‘virtual’ perimeter walls can be generated by using its REDSCAN laser-scan detectors. The newly-launched RLS-3060SH Version 8 enables detection up to 100 metres in vertical mode.

OPTEXSecurityEssen2018

To protect the approaches to a building, OPTEX will be demonstrating both its long-range motion sensors. The SIP Series sensors are capable of detecting objects within an area of 100×4 metres or 50×30 metres and provide three independent zones to drive cameras positions. The new version of the RLS-3060 LiDAR has more application-specific modes. There’s now an extended range for a pre-warning zone beyond a 30-metre radius up to 50 metres.

For asset protection, and particularly to protect high-value or potentially hazardous items, the high resolution REDSCAN RLS-2020 can create a virtual shield that will detect something as small as a child’s hand.

“Since the opening of our German office last September, opportunities within the region have been increasing and we look forward to exhibiting at Essen and meeting our customers to discuss potential projects,” observed Masaya Kida, managing director of OPTEX EMEA. “The wider European team will be on the stand, including the sales teams from the Benelux region and Eastern Europe as well as the Nordics. Our EMEA product, technical and marketing managers will also be there.”

Kida added: “Our sensors are part of an overall security solution. We hope to show visitors how our different sensing technologies can be used for a variety of applications. Some sensors, such as our LiDAR products – the REDSCAN series, are highly versatile and reliable, even in the most challenging of outdoor conditions.”

As a business, OPTEX continues to go from strength to strength in Europe as its sensors become integrated with an increasing number of VMS platforms, including Genetec. OPTEX will also be exhibiting on Genetec’s Stand (5G30 in Hall 5).

Vanderbilt to showcase all-new ACT Enterprise solution at Security Essen

Vanderbilt, the state-of-the-art security systems specialist, will showcase the latest version of ACT Enterprise at Security Essen 2018. Along with demonstrations of the access control software solution, visitors to Security Essen can explore the full range of products that Vanderbilt has to offer at Stand 6D90, with a significant focus on increased integration across the company’s products and, indeed, with third party systems.

The latest ACT Enterprise features – which include integration with Vanderbilt’s award-winning SPC intrusion system, a rules mapping engine and a smart phone app – were previewed at IFSEC International in June and received a wave of positive feedback from visitors to the show at ExCeL.

“Our ACT Enterprise Apple and Android compatible apps mean real-time monitoring, user management and administration from your smart phone,” stated Andrew Fulton, head of the access control product line at Vanderbilt. “You can enable and disable alarms, lock and unlock doors, authorise users and check who’s in and who’s out from wherever you are. Security has never been more convenient, and you’ve never been more in control.”

Rules mapping

One of the key features is the ease-of-use and simplicity of ACT Enterprise’s rules mapping to enable advanced configurations of various system inputs and outputs across the access control system, as well as integrated video and intruder elements of an integrated system.

Michael Moyna, technical product marketing manager at Vanderbilt, observed: “The use of rules mapping simplifies the implementation of more complex events/alarms and associated actions for the installer/integrator by permitting the creation of logical relationships between system elements via a drag-and-drop interface. For the end user, the addition of rules mapping ensures that system interactions can be seamlessly introduced on a system-wide basis, thus enabling a higher level of added value to be realised, both for security and business-based functionalities.”

VanderbiltSPCConnect

Integration will continue to be a priority, with a significant focus being placed on technology partnerships that enhance Vanderbilt’s functionality and reach in the market. On top of ACT Enterprise’s integration with SPC, the solution now also integrates with ASSA Abloy’s Aperio wireless components.

In addition, the much-touted SPC-Milestone plug-in will be on display. This plug-in enables users to control SPC from within the Milestone system. The plug-in is aimed at improving the customer experience by providing a bi-directional communication strategy with the enhancement of a robust surveillance solution in line with the ethos of ‘the customer first’. The SPC Milestone plug-in features options such as filters for event transmissions and remote interaction based on customisable command profile, while ATS/ATP logs offer transparent communication.

New wireless devices

Vanderbilt’s newly-released SPC Wireless devices, which include detectors, panic buttons, fobs and a transceiver, will also be on show at Security Essen. The devices feature sleek and modern lines to complement the interior styles of many environments, such as retail stores. This range of products was designed in response to growing consumer Internet of Things trends and, as a result, presents a significant revenue opportunity for installers in boosting their SPC portfolio offering.

“Installs for Vanderbilt’s SPC Wireless devices were designed to be hassle-free,” explained Ross Wilks, head of marketing communications at Vanderbilt. “In contrast, a wired solution can take, at a minimum, a day’s work when it comes to fitting cable. By reducing time on site, Vanderbilt’s SPC Wireless can enable installers to get more work done elsewhere, essentially meaning more profits from more jobs.”

Vanderbilt will also be sharing its expertise in Software-as-a-Service solutions, with ‘How To’ demonstrations on ways that installers can derive the most out of the company’s award-winning solutions, namely ACT365 and SPC Connect.
