Norbain set to launch “industry-first” Virtual Event on Tuesday 5 June

Norbain will be launching its first Virtual Event on Tuesday 5 June. The online event has been developed such that ‘visitors’ can benefit from all the advantages of a physical exhibition, but at a time and place convenient to them.

As is the case with a physical event, visitors will be able to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry, speak with suppliers, network, watch videos and presentations and use their ‘event bag’ to take away useful resources.

In addition to being able to visit supplier’s stands, the Virtual Event will give visitors the opportunity to watch a range of presentations from industry experts focusing on the subjects of cyber security and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.

NorbainVirtualEvent

Mark Field, commercial director for Norbain SD, commented: “We’re continually looking for new and innovative ways in which to deliver value to the industry and facilitate the sharing of information between all parties. Although physical exhibitions and roadshows are still relevant, it’s becoming increasingly challenging to justify the time and expense involved for visitors and suppliers alike. Face-to-face networking will always be a part of our strategy, but the Virtual Event allows us to offer a very accessible alternative.”

The launch event is “just the beginning”. Norbain will be using the site across the year to run a range of events on a number of different themes, all of them focused on topics that are key to the industry. Even when the platform is not being used to run live events, it will still be available to visitors, subsequently allowing them to take advantage of a great range of resources (among them the dedicated Cyber Security Zone).

New distribution deal agreed between Norbain and Satel UK

Satel UK – the national distributor for high-quality security systems manufacturer Satel – is delighted to announce a new partnership with Norbain, one of the UK’s largest distributors of IP, CCTV, access control and intruder detection solutions. The agreement will see Norbain stock and distribute Satel’s range of graded PIR detectors, intruder alarm boards and sirens in the UK.

Satel’s PIR sensor range has been configured to be both tamper-resistant and reliable, while devices are able to compensate for a wide ambient temperature range and adjust their performance to the requirements of the user and the protected premises (for example, adjustments can be made to ensure pet immunity).

Additionally, certain Satel PIR sensors can be used to implement building automation functions when the house alarm system is unarmed.

Norbain announces release of new Wisenet Q cameras

Norbain has announced the release of the new Wisenet Q cameras from Hanwha Techwin Europe. The 24 models in the Wisenet Q Series are packed with innovative features such as H.265 compression and WiseStream, a complementary compression technology which dynamically controls encoding, balancing quality and compression according to movement in the image.

When WiseStream is combined with H.265 compression, bandwidth efficiency can be improved by up to 75% when compared to current H.264 technology. This ensures that Hanwha Techwin Europe’s Wisenet Q Series is one of the most bandwidth-friendly camera ranges available.

There has been no compromise on build quality or feature sets within the 24 Wisenet Q cameras and domes. Even IR illumination is provided as standard.

Available in 2 MP and 4 MP Full-HD versions, the cameras also feature True Wide Dynamic Range, Defocus Detection, Hallway View and Lens Distortion Correction to deliver optimised images in every situation.

norbainsamsungwisenetqseries

Defocus Detection is available on all models and recognises when a camera is out of focus. The focus of Wisenet Q 4 MP models equipped with a varifocal lens can also be adjusted over the network to reduce installation time.

Hallway View provides a highly effective way in which to monitor narrow vertical areas such as corridors, tunnels and aisles. It enables cameras which can generate images in the 9:16 x 3:4 aspect ratio to work effectively in tall and narrow spaces, with the added bonus of minimised bandwidth and video storage requirements.

Lens Distortion Correction (LDC) compensates for the image distortion that can occur with wide angle lenses.

Motion and tamper detection, PoE/DC dual power and on-board edge-based storage options, including NAS or 128 GB micro SD, SDHC and SDXC all add to the system flexibility and user-friendliness of the Wisenet Q Series of cameras and domes which have collectively been designed to provide a competitively-priced video surveillance solution for banks, the retail sector, offices, transportation and a wide range of other applications.
