TDSi set to showcase latest hardware and software at The Security Event

Integrated security solutions manufacturer TDSi will be showcasing its latest security hardware and software systems on Stand C40 in Hall 3 when The Security Event runs at the NEC in Birmingham from 5-7 April 2022.

The Poole-based business will be showcasing its latest products with a keen focus on the GARDiS range of integrated software and hardware access control solutions, complete with the latest software updates and features, alongside the company’s contact-free Bluetooth Low Energy/mobile credentials authentication readers and an introduction to the eagerly awaited GARDiS apps.

John Davies, managing director at TDSi, commented: “We’re excited to unveil our line-up for TDSi’s forthcoming appearance at The Security Event 2022. We have a number of new products to show visitors, including the latest enhancements to our GARDiS software platform which now includes integration with the Milestone XProtect Plugin and HikVision’s HikCentral Professional Series.”

Davies added: “Visitors to the NEC will also be able to enjoy demonstrations of a range of new features in GARDiS itself, including Bluetooth reader integration, improved site maps and bespoke badge printing options. We will be offering regular presentations throughout each of the three days to highlight our solutions in action.”

TDSi will also be showcasing its new Bluetooth Low Energy readers, which enable security operators to use the considerable benefits of mobile device authentication. High levels of cyber security are built-in, so too flexibility in issuing security tokens and prohibiting access, along with the inherent safety advantages of using this ‘touchless’ technology.

The company’s stand will also be featuring a first chance to see the new GARDiS app. “One of the benefits of our newly enhanced hybrid working schedules,” continued Davies, “has been the increased acceleration of our software development. The GARDiS apps will appeal to our customers and installation partners. Available for both the Android and Apple iOS platforms, these apps will add even further flexibility to the operation and installation of the GARDiS ecosystem.”

As well as demonstrating products, TDSi’s expert team will be on hand to help installers and system end users match its systems to their projects and daily security requirements.

Davies concluded: “The disruptions to live events over the last few years have really highlighted the benefits to be realised from in-person meetings. The Security Event 2022 is a great opportunity to meet our team and discuss solution needs, but equally so it’s an excellent opportunity for our team to gather feedback and insights which will drive the rapid and ongoing developments of our software and hardware. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the NEC in April.”

Milestone XProtect VMS update “takes security to next level” with Microsoft encryption

Protecting sensitive data in surveillance systems is key to maintaining video authenticity, personal privacy and adequate cyber security measures. XProtect 2020 R3 from Milestone includes a level of encryption from Microsoft called Cryptography New Generation that adheres to “the highest levels of cyber security and data protection” available on the market today.

XProtect’s new encryption modules include stronger data protection, increased cyber security, evidence authenticity and password-protected configuration. Embedding this encryption also means that XProtect can now be configured to operate in a Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 compliant mode. FIPS is a US Government computer security standard used in all software solutions deployed in US federal agencies and regulated industries such as healthcare and finance.

Security system operators are the eyes and ears of their organisation. When an incident occurs, they’re expected to provide video evidence immediately. This can sometimes be a challenging task, especially so for installations with thousands of cameras recording 24/7.

XProtect 2020 R3 offers a new multi-category search function that makes finding the specific video evidence easier and faster than ever. Multi-category search allows the operator to combine and search across multiple categories such as people, vehicles and location as well as any search agents developed and integrated into XProtect by third party technology partners.

By way of example, operators can narrow their investigation to only contain video sequences that include blue vehicles and males and exclude those that only meet one of them.

Expanded support for 360-degree cameras

XProtect 2020 R3 also offers expanded support for any 360-degree camera that delivers a complete fish-eye view. Most customers will experience significant installation and camera cost reductions and increased situational awareness when deploying these camera types compared to standard surveillance cameras.

The 2020 R3 release contains many more new and improved features and capabilities such as improved video rendering performance in the XProtect Smart Client, adaptive streaming for XProtect Mobile and direct streaming improvements in XProtect Web Client. On the cameras and devices side, XProtect 2020 R3 includes improvements such as increased security without compromising ease-of-use, more freedom to build installations that suit customers’ needs and new Device Packs.

Xellip2’s integration with Milestone VMS affords “seamless control” for end users

Castel’s open protocol Xellip2 IP intercom has been integrated with Milestone’s Xprotect video management system (VMS) to offer “seamless interoperability” between systems.

The ONVIF-compatible Xellip2 features a 1200 x 800 wide-angle HD camera. Sporting a sleek and contemporary design with backlit and flushed nameplates, the Xellip2 has two output relays and two inputs for third party integration. It also features two Ethernet ports (one PoE plus an additional one for serial/bus architecture type and loopback).

Other highlights include echo and noise cancellation, a built-in induction loop for compliance with disability discrimination legislation, audio feedback and call status LEDs, power back-up, a built-in web browser and the ability to record audio and video.

The integration enables all the components of the intercom system – ie camera, microphone, speaker and button – to be monitored and controlled from the Xprotect interface.

The VMS enables users to record video via the event button or via motion detection, record audio, trigger actions via the rule engine (such as the display on a matrix or on Xprotect’s dynamic image wall), send pre-recorded messages to the intercom’s speaker, reassign an alarm and display a flashing icon in the case of detection.

“Interoperability between Castel’s intercom systems and video management systems is now a key demand from our markets, with developments in the latest Xellip2 intercom range offering the perfect answer to this challenge,” explained Atmane Bensghir, business development manager at Castel. “This integration with Milestone’s VMS puts end users firmly in control, enabling them to manage their video entry and security systems using a single interface.”

The easy integration of the Xellip 2, combined with the XProtect access module, enriches the Milestone Smartclient with an integrated intercom client. This module allows the display of a pop-up alert to pinpoint a call made from an intercom.

Milestone Access pop-up notification enables video monitoring at the relevant intercom and two-way audio communication with the intercom directly from the Milestone Smartclient, as well as the opening of a door and association of intercom information with access control data.

Hanwha Techwin launches new Wisenet WAVE VMS brand

The new Wisenet WAVE video management software (VMS) from Hanwha Techwin “makes it almost effortless” to display up to 64 HD video streams.

The company already offers an entry level free VMS called SSM, while for sophisticated Enterprise level VMS projects, the business integrates with technology partners such as Genetec and Milestone.

For its part, Wisenet WAVE has been launched to answer the needs of projects in the middle ground with an emphasis on simplified user experience.

HanwhaTechwinWisenetWAVE

Uncomplicated and easy to use

An intuitive ‘drag and drop’ tool makes it extremely easy for operators to set up a display of live and recorded images on a single screen or video wall, with customisable layouts and sizes.

Other key features include a virtual PTZ which, with just simple clicks of a mouse, enables operators to zoom in to see close up detail of any suspicious activity, while motion detection and video analytics support can be configured to generate alerts when user-defined incidents occur.

A wide range of smart, keyword, calendar and time-slice search options facilitate rapid retrieval of recorded video.

Ultimate in flexibility

Wisenet WAVE offers a wide range of options to allow end users to choose how and where they wish to manage their video surveillance systems with minimal hardware requirements.

Desktop Wisenet WAVE is offered as software which can be installed on a user’s desktop running Windows, Linux or Apple/Mac. 24 to 64 live HD video streams can be managed on 32 and 64-bit operating systems.

Cloud A cloud-based service (which can be remotely accessed by an unlimited number of authorised users from anywhere in the world) offers a hardware free, cost saving method of taking advantage of all Wisenet WAVE functionality.

Server solutions Wisenet WAVE is available as a pre-loaded, out-of-the-box server or as software downloadable from the Hanwha Techwin website which enables operators to view up to 64 HD streams of live video. A supporting web-based application enables each Wisenet WAVE platform to be managed as a stand-alone system or as part of a larger, scalable video management solution. The application also provides an audit trail, real-time health monitoring and camera failover support, as well as reports on server health and storage status.

Mobile A mobile App affords the opportunity to remotely access the key functions of Wisenet WAVE from a smart device, in turn enabling ‘on-the-road’ users to view and respond to any incidents captured by Wisenet cameras.

While Wisenet WAVE is packed with features to make it simple and easy for users to achieve maximum advantage from their video surveillance systems, it’s likely to also be popular with system integrators looking to minimise their on-site time. With the benefit of an auto-discover feature, connected cameras and a wide range of third party IP network devices can be addressed and set up within a matter of minutes.

The Zepcam solution is distributed in the UK by Interconnective Security Products. The company’s managing director Bobby Logue explained: “At the beginning of 2011, we implemented a strategy to move Interconnective from being a ‘box shifter’ to a solutions provider that adds value to security service providers. One of our tactics was to move our product sourcing from China to Europe, engaging with manufacturers that had dedicated R&D facilities in place as well as an innovative culture. Zepcam is a fine example of the success of our strategy. We expect to reveal further success stories during 2014 from our other supply partners.”
