Unified security, public safety, operations and business intelligence solutions provider Genetec has announced that Mercury Security (part of HID Global, the global leader in OEM access control technology) has awarded the company the highest status level – ie Platinum Premier – within its successful partner programme.

The Platinum Premier status recognises Mercury Security’s select business partners who demonstrate continued market growth, strong integration with Mercury’s own solutions and a shared interest in the open architecture approach towards access control.

“As a Mercury Security partner and reseller since 2014, we take pride in having achieved Platinum Premier status in just a few short years,” said Georges Tannous, director of strategic alliances at Genetec. “Mercury Security is a key partner in the development of our access control strategy as we’re aligned in our efforts to provide innovative and cyber-secure access control solutions based on an open architecture.”

ACRE, the provider of security products and solutions for the access control, intrusion, smart traffic and video surveillance markets, has announced that CEO Joe Grillo has been inducted into the Security Sales and Integration (SSI) Industry Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Grillo joins nearly 100 security leaders recognised for their “unforgettable impact on the industry” over the course of their career.

Founded in 2004, the SSI Industry Hall of Fame represents the highest honour for extraordinary professionalism, conduct and achievement, paying tribute to individuals who are instrumental in improving the security industry. Inductees are nominated by past inductees and other luminaries, citing the impact each has had over a long and illustrious career.

“Growing sales in a highly competitive market is difficult, but I thrive on successfully meeting the goals of an organisation through development and profitability,” explained Grillo. “I’m honoured to be recognised by the Industry Hall of Fame alongside an incredible group of hardworking executives. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to be able to enjoy what I do.”

Grillo was instrumental in helping HID grow from a $15 million card and reader company to a dominant $100 million-plus industry leader by 2000, also leading the effort to sell HID to ASSA ABLOY in 2001.

In 2012, he founded ACRE LLC as a platform to consolidate electronic security acquisitions, forming Vanderbilt out of the Ingersoll Rand Software and Controllers product portfolio while adding Siemens AG’s former Security Products Division, Access Control Technologies and ComNet.

Grillo also added Mercury Security and later re-sold to HID Global in 2017.

Honeywell announces enhanced Pro-Watch Security Management System

The Pro-Watch® 4.1 Platform Adds Support for SALTO® Disconnected Readers and Mercury Security™ Standard Protocol Control Panels.

The latest version of the Pro-Watch Security Management System expands the added value services integrators can provide to their customers.

The Pro-Watch® 4.1 Security Management System adds support for SALTO® disconnected readers and Mercury Security™ control panels. These enhancements provide users with more options to extend access control to large and remote facilities.

“It’s not uncommon for organisations to have access control, video surveillance and intrusion systems from separate manufacturers,” said Luisa Aymet, product manager (EMEA) at Honeywell Security Group.

“Organisations are purchasing and expanding their security infrastructure as their business needs change. The Pro-Watch platform provides users a seamless way to connect their disparate security systems onto a single management system. Organisations have the flexibility to use or upgrade their existing security systems, and also expand those systems as their business grows.”

Solutions delivery at large and remote facilities

The integration of SALTO disconnected readers to the Pro-Watch platform expands the added value services integrators can deliver to their customers at large and remote facilities, such as healthcare and higher education institutions that typically have multiple buildings.

The addition of disconnected readers from SALTO to the Pro-Watch platform also complements the recent addition of wireless readers from IR Schlage®. These solutions extend electronic access control to areas that were previously cost prohibitive to reach, and give users access to the platform’s advanced reporting functions.

Pro-Watch 4.1 also adds support for Mercury Security’s standard protocol control panels. The addition gives integrators an easy path to migrate customers using third party access control solutions, supported by Mercury Security control panels, to the Pro-Watch platform.

Organsations have the option to keep or upgrade their existing access control hardware to Honeywell components, including readers and access cards. It’s a significant benefit for organisations connecting multiple sites or hundreds of doors to the platform because it reduces the cost and complexity of connecting disparate security systems to the Pro-Watch platform.

Users also gain access to the system’s advanced badging and reporting functions to pull real-time dynamic reports.

Availability in four editions

The Pro-Watch platform is available in four editions. These are as follows:

• Pro-Watch Enterprise Edition designed for global enterprises with multiple locations and security systems to manage
• Pro-Watch Corporate Edition is ideal for large organisations and campuses
• Pro-Watch Professional Edition provides complete functionality for organisations with up to 64 doors or requiring regulatory compliance
• Pro-Watch Lite Edition offers basic functionality for organisations with up to 32 doors, as well as Rapid Eye™ video technology
