ASSA ABLOY has signed an agreement to acquire KEYper Systems, a leading supplier of electronic and mechanical key management systems in the US with a strong presence in the automotive segment. KEYper was established in 1993 and operates from its headquarters in Harrisburg.
KEYper Systems will become a separate business unit of key and asset management specialist Traka and an operating unit of ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions. Ric Stone, president of KEYper, will report to Justin Sasse, managing director of Traka.
“KEYper’s product range and expertise, especially in the US automotive and property management market segments, will complement Traka’s extensive product range and specialist solutions in key and asset management solutions globally,” explained Justin Sasse, managing director of Traka. “This acquisition will allow us to leverage Traka’s technology to further develop KEYper’s offer for its existing customers, and also widen the product range globally for Traka in all of our market segments.”
Danny Garrido, president of Traka Americas, added: “This transaction provides us with the opportunity to further strengthen our position in the industry, while at the same tie advancing Traka’s strategy to increase its presence in core markets globally. Traka and KEYper are an excellent strategic fit. We have highly complementary product and service offerings, strong sales and marketing operations and a shared dedication to quality customer service. We expect this combination to result in an even more effective and successful Traka.”
Ric Stone concluded: “I’m very pleased to be joining Traka and ASSA ABLOY. KEYper will be able to accelerate its product and market development and is looking forward to engaging with the wider Traka and ASSA ABLOY organisation in order to share knowledge and expertise.”
The acquisition is conditional upon the satisfaction of customary legal conditions and is expected to complete during the first quarter of 2019.
Traka will be exhibiting at Security Essen (which runs from 25-28 September at Messe Essen) to present the company’s latest software and hardware solutions for key and asset management.
On Stand 3G140, visitors will be able to witness fully-integrated demonstrations of Traka Web, an enterprise class web-based administration software platform that enables complete management of Traka Touch key and locker systems from any device, even on a remote basis.
Also on show will be Traka’s integrated solutions and security cabinets, among them the latest V-Touch compact key management system and Rack Manager solutions.
Martin Woodhouse, Traka’s international sales director, stated: “As part of the ASSA ABLOY Group of companies, Traka is looking forward to Security Essen. This year is about us demonstrating how our solutions can bring tangible returns on investment for both small and enterprise-level businesses. Further, the value proposition of Traka’s solutions helps minimise operational costs, increase productivity and ensure the efficient use of company assets.”
Woodhouse concluded: “Security Essen is the right international platform to demonstrate our proven integrated solutions. We want visitors to Stand 3G140 to see for themselves how easy, intuitive and comprehensive our systems are in the real world. With full audit capabilities, our systems present an all-encompassing safe and secure solution.”
Traka UK has launched a new intelligent key cabinet specifically designed to offer controlled access management for critical keys at locations where space is limited and only a few credentials need to be managed.
The company has unveiled its new V Touch as a secure unit with a seven-inch touch display to accommodate up to five sets of keys.
Powered by Traka’s exclusive electronics system, the V Touch presents full audit control capability such that administrators know exactly what keys have been taken, and by whom, together with the ability to instantly access usage reports.
Traka’s V Touch is recommended as part of a networked solution using Traka’s specialist Traka Web software to enable central control of critical keys.
Steve Bumphrey, UK sales director at Traka, stated: “We’ve created the V Touch as an intelligent key management system to help ensure keys and credentials can be securely managed, even where space is at an absolute premium. This could include on board ships or for remote locations requiring maintenance. We hope the launch of the V Touch, which comes equipped with all the traditional management benefits you would expect from a Traka Touch system, demonstrates our commitment to listening and continually evolving our product range to meet both new and existing customer requirements.”
With further features including a solid locking door, built-in power supply and full battery back-up in the event of a power failure, Traka’s V Touch is available with card reader or biometric access options to enable customer preference and accommodation of individual site requirements.
Traka provides intelligent key and equipment management control to better protect essential assets resulting in improved efficiency, reduced downtime, less damage, fewer losses, lower operating costs and significantly less administration, allied with transparency and greater accountability and responsibility.
LOCKEN – the developer of cable-free access control technology whose solution concentrates on power, intelligence and communication in one smart key – has announced the addition of the CyberKey Vault 20S to its range.
Based on Cyberlock technology, the Vault 20S brings additional value to LOCKEN’s solution in those environments where it’s more appropriate or advantageous to keep the keys in a centralised location.
The LOCKEN Vault
The vault prevents keys from ever leaving the premises and, with an integrated on-board computer, it’s designed to secure up to 20 rechargeable digital keys at any one time.
The keys retained in the Vault 20S remain un-programmed until an authorised user presents an approved PIN or RFID device to the vault. The vault’s internal server will then programme a key with the specified permissions. Once the end user has returned the key to the cabinet, it charges the key’s battery and downloads the audit trail from its memory.
LOCKEN Open Key Cabinet and Keys
Nick Dooley, managing director of LOCKEN UK, explained: “This new multi-functional device meets the needs of many of our existing and potential single- and multi-site customers. It allows business managers to issue, programme and protect their smart keys simultaneously and to assign access rights in real-time. The solution will result in improved smart key management, heightened security and increased efficiencies.”
