Evolution maintains quality standards with ISO certification

Evolution, the integrated fire and security solutions business, has achieved ISO 9001:2015 accreditation for Quality Management Systems.

The previous ISO 9001:2008 accreditation was well integrated within Evolution’s processes and procedures, enabling a smooth transition to the new standard which includes a number of important developments.

NOVATEK CAMERA

One of the most significant is the need for a documented risk management process identifying the potential risks to the business. This required a comprehensive review of the company’s business continuity plan to enable the newly- created Risk Register to record the key areas at risk (along with the level of risk) in greater detail.

New emergency processes have also been created to include appropriate control measures designed to mitigate risks and identify those who may be affected.

STANLEY Security achieves accreditation to ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems

STANLEY Security has been accredited with ISO 9001:2015, the very latest version of the respected Quality Management Systems standard.

ISO 9001:2015 is awarded when specific criteria for a Quality Management System are met by a given organisation as a result of that business ensuring a structured approach with an increased importance afforded to risk management. The accreditation is based on a number of quality management principles such as a strong customer focus, the motivation of senior management, a defined process approach and demonstrably continual improvement.

For STANLEY Security’s end user customers, ISO 9001:2015 accreditation provides clear proof that its products and services work and meet legal and industry standards and that, if an issue should arise, a process is in place to rectify it and ensure that it doesn’t happen again. It’s also designed to make staff more efficient by standardising systems and procedures, while still allowing for flexibility such that STANLEY can work with customers in a way which suits them.

STANLEY Security has always been committed to delivering quality at all levels, from products through to services, and has been accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 for many years. The move to the more stringent 2015 standard requires a greater focus on all internal and external factors that could impact quality, products and services.

STANLEYSecurityISO9001

Ross Marotta, STANLEY Security’s compliance manager responsible for the transition to the new standard, explained: “The ISO 9001:2015 accreditation is proof that we can provide customers with consistent, reliable and fit for purpose solutions and services. It provides an assurance that we listen to our customers and respond proactively to their feedback. Customers can also be secure in the knowledge that any issues will be identified and resolved quickly.”

Marotta has reviewed all of STANLEY Security’s documents, processes, policies and procedures to ensure they correspond with actual activities and meet the 2015 standard. He has also implemented training sessions and presentations within management meetings to clearly explain individuals’ responsibilities and what they need to be aware of and monitor in their own teams.

STANLEY Security’s ISO 9001:2015 accreditation holds for a maximum time period of three years. In this three-year period, the company will be subject to mandatory audits to ensure compliance.

ISO 9001:2015 accreditation has been awarded through the National Security Inspectorate. Through the NSI, STANLEY Security is NACOSS Gold approved with respect to the design, installation and maintenance of electronic security systems and Fire Gold approved for the design, installation, commissioning and handover, verification and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems.

ISO 9001:2015 certification affords PACOM “a competitive edge”

PACOM, a STANLEY Products and Solutions company and provider of security and access control solutions, has confirmed its commitment to Best in Class quality management by gaining the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification. This significant achievement is part of the company’s continuing efforts to make its processes as agile as possible and set the standard in what is an increasingly competitive market.

Since it was first published in 1987, ISO 9001 has become the world’s most established quality management framework and is currently used by over one million companies across the globe. PACOM was previously certified to ISO 9001:2008, which ceased to apply from the middle of last month, and began its transition process to ISO 9001:2015 well in advance of the deadline. Certified through an external certification body, a rigorous audit was conducted on PACOM’s quality management systema to assess the company’s dedication to the ongoing improvement of its processes.

“A desire to operate to the highest standards runs through everything we do and ISO 9001:2015 rubber stamps our credentials through better integration and alignment of our internal processes,” explained James Ford, PACOM’s marketing director, in conversation with Risk Xtra. “This, in turn, leads to increased productivity and results and defines a standard of operation that exceeds our customers’ expectations. It also helps to ensure that they consider us as the security and access control solutions supplier of choice.”

ISO9001

ISO 9001:2015 takes into account a number of principles and is based on ISO’s Annex SL, which consists of ten clauses that act as a basic set of generic requirements to follow, in addition to the ‘Plan, Do, Check, Act’ structure pioneered by W Edwards Deming. The standard makes companies assess risks, identify opportunities for improvement and effectively manage and measure performance across all levels of the business. As such, senior management must now be able to demonstrate a greater commitment to – and direct involvement in – their company’s quality management system.

Ford concluded: “I would like to congratulate the team for all the hard work that has gone into attaining ISO 9001:2015. It’s a milestone achievement that reflects our growth and development. Our culture of continuous improvement is vital in maintaining a market leading position, while the discipline and framework provided by our quality management system creates an environment that will help us to achieve our corporate objectives. Just as importantly, it means our customers have complete assurance that PACOM operates to the highest standards and that we meet all regulatory requirements for our products and services, which we will strive to maintain and improve upon.”

Vanderbilt highlights commitment to quality with ISO 9001 certification

Vanderbilt, the state-of-the-art security systems developer, has had its commitment to Best in Class quality management highlighted by achieving the prestigious ISO 9001 certification. This latest accolade is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to make its processes as agile as possible and set the standard in what’s now an increasingly competitive market.

ISO is the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards that acknowledge industry Best Practice.

Since it was first published in 1987, ISO 9001 has become the world’s most established quality management framework and is currently used by over a million companies across the globe.

The standard is based on a number of principles including a company’s commitment to excellence and its stakeholders, and a willingness to work towards continually improving efficiencies.

“A desire to operate to the highest standards of quality runs through everything we do,” stated Uta Ragnitz, head of quality and process management at Vanderbilt. “ISO 9001 rubber stamps our credentials through better integration and alignment of internal processes, which will lead to increased productivity and results. In addition, more effective use of resources, improved communication, planning and administration will define a standard of operation that exceeds our customers’ expectations and ensures that they view us as the security solutions supplier of choice.”

Having completed the successful acquisition of Security Products from Siemens in 2015, Vanderbilt’s ISO 9001 certification maintains the level of quality that its customers expect and allows the business to enhance customer satisfaction and improve customer loyalty, leading to repeat business. These processes will also help the organisation gain market share through flexible and fast responses to market opportunities.

Rigorous audit process

Vanderbilt’s quality management system was externally certified through Intertek, a multinational certification body that has helped companies around the world improve performance and become more efficient for over 130 years.

A rigorous audit process took place over two days. Auditor Hans Tjornvik from Intertek explained: “I was thoroughly impressed with the level of work that Vanderbilt has put into its quality management system, as well as the company’s dedication to the continual improvement of its processes. So much so, in fact, that I would place the business in the Top 10 of the companies I’ve audited during my career.”

The hard work is all set to continue, as Vanderbilt looks to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, the latest revision of the standard.

Joe Grillo, the company’s managing director, concluded: “I would like to congratulate the team for all the hard work put into achieving this important standard. Our culture of quality improvement is vital. The discipline and framework provided by our system creates an environment that will help us achieve our corporate objectives.”
