Evolution targets further growth in Netherlands and across Europe

Evolution, the integrated fire and security systems business, has appointed Richard de Graaf as its new country manager in the Netherlands to further service and grow increasing business opportunities in that nation and, indeed, across Europe.

In this newly created role, de Graaf will be responsible for leading Evolution’s sales and growth strategy in the region with a particular focus on the Data Centre sector, as well as building and developing relationships with local service providers and suppliers.

Joining Evolution with a wealth of experience in business development and commercial management including almost 20 years in the security industry, de Graaf is keen to build on the company’s strong presence in the Netherlands and across Europe.

In conversation with Security Matters, de Graaf stated: “Evolution has earned its reputation as one of the leading integrators, and I’m very much looking forward to building on this success by continuing to service and support new and existing customers in the Netherlands and throughout Europe.”

Given the ongoing skills shortage within the security industry, one of de Graaf’s immediate priorities is to focus on attracting and developing new talent that will help to grow the team.

“As a business,” continued de Graaf, “Evolution places great emphasis on its people. We are, of course, looking to merge the group culture here in the Netherlands. We want to build our team by adding talented and ambitious individuals. With this in mind, we’re already planning to develop and deliver a highly focused and comprehensive training and development programme.”

Richard Lambert, managing director of Evolution, stated: “Richard has vast experience of working in the security industry, while his knowledge of the region will prove invaluable for us. I’m pleased to welcome Richard to the team and look forward to working closely with him to continue the success and growth of the business right across Europe.”

De Graaf’s appointment follows on from Evolution’s purchase of a new office building in the Netherlands back in January. Situated around 15 miles from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, the location delivers a new account management, service and support base in the country and beyond for both new and existing customers.

Team TDSi ‘Wears It Red’ to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation

The dedicated team at integrated security solutions development specialist TDSi recently supported the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Wear It… Beat It’ fundraising day by wearing red and enjoying a fine selection of red food.

Embracing the spirit of the event, the TDSi team members each came to work wearing a red item of clothing (donating £1 each to the charity in order to do so) and enjoyed a delicious selection of red-coloured foods including home-baked cakes, sweets, jellies, fruit and fruit-flavoured drinks along with an array of suitably coloured delicatessen meats.

The event has a serious side, though, in terms of raising awareness around serious health issues. Indeed, the British Heart Foundation charity estimates that one-in-four individuals will suffer from heart and/or circulatory disease at some point in their lifetime.

Sarah Phillips, TDSi’s product and marketing manager, commented: “As a company we’re very socially aware and believe in supporting good causes. As a team we raised an impressive £70 for the British Heart Foundation. These funds will go towards life-saving research and combating life-threatening diseases. We also had a great time, sharing in the fun of a good-natured fundraising event with the whole team taking part to support what is a very worthy cause.”

The event follows a charity Bake Off challenge held at the company’s Poole offices last November in aid of the Boo charity. Members of the TDSi team competed to produce the best sweet treats as judged by a panel of staff members.

Established in 1982, TDSi has been at the forefront of the access control and integrated security management market for over 30 years. The company’s diverse and comprehensive product range encompasses access control systems, biometric readers (fingerprint and facial), security management software, IP CCTV cameras and storage media and Video Management Software.

Its portfolio of solutions can be easily integrated with other security and BMS applications and may be deployed at businesses and organisations of all sizes and types.

With customers all around the world, millions of people rely on TDSi cards every day to gain secure, reliable access to installations. ISO 9001 accredited, TDSi’s access control systems range from standalone products to networked and integrated systems for all sectors.

The company serves end user customers across a wide range of sectors, among them healthcare, finance/banking, education, transportation (including ports and airports) and the utilities as well as industrial and commercial/retail sites.

Clients include Bristol International Airport, the University of the West of England, Guildhall School, Natwest Bank, Bentley Motors, Vodafone, Université de Caen, CHU de TOURS, Ecole Centrale de Nantes and Arcelor Mital.
