Veracity showcasing end-to-end Command and Control solution at IFSEC International 2017

Veracity, a leading provider of solutions that solve real-world challenges in IP video systems, is showcasing a new suite of products at IFSEC International 2017 which neatly brings together the three cornerstones of its business: IP transmission, storage and display.

Following on from its acquisition of security Command and Control software manufacturer icomply, Veracity’s largest-ever IFSEC stand is built around a walk-through Control Room, promoting the company’s integrated security management platform powered by VTAS Pro.

Bringing together new and legacy third party video recording systems, VTAS Pro combines them with other security systems such as access control, LPR, guard tours and building management. This provides a “unified and coherent system” for the management and control of single or multiple sites, allowing system operators to be far more efficient in responding to incidents.

VeracityCOLDSTORE

VTAS Pro is fully-integrated with Veracity’s TRINITY direct-to-storage architecture and, fundamental to that, the advanced COLDSTORE surveillance storage system. It also features a full video and media wall display option which can be reconfigured ‘on-the-fly’ and in response to specific incidents or emergency situations.

Live views may be mixed with playback and media streams such as broadcast news, online data streams, maps or other graphical displays.

This end-to-end Command and Control solution is highly scaleable and supports a large number of operator workstations, with shared incident management and alarm receiving co-ordination. It’s capable of handling thousands of remote sites.

The system can provide integration with access control, building management, intruder detection, VoIP intercom systems and video analytics including ANPR and facial recognition. Several native security functions can be added to the system in a modular, customisable way such as guard tour, lone worker monitoring, dispatch, alarm monitoring and key management.

Veracity will also be presenting its new HIGHWIRE Powerstar Base 4 Encoder Replacement Kit containing a HIGHWIRE Powerstar Base 4 unit, four HIGHWIRE Powerstar Camera units and a 57V DC power supply (region-specific). This product bundle is a simple and cost-effective replacement for legacy analogue video encoders, allowing the end user customer to upgrade to IP cameras by re-using the coax cable and powering the new IP cameras with PoE over coax.

IDIS cuts the ribbon on new UK office

To support continued robust growth and an expanding customer base, IDIS has opened new offices and training facilities in London.  Remaining in the recently refurbished The Mille in Brentford, the new facility features significant additional desk and recreational space and meeting rooms and doubles the capacity of the company’s training and demonstration facility.

Over the last two years, IDIS has significantly grown its sales force in the UK as well as strengthening its technical support team. This growth has corresponded with a larger partner network and customer base that has seen the demand for IDIS product demonstrations and training soar.

Brian Song, managing director of IDIS Europe, said: “Our new UK office is testament to the growth surge IDIS has experienced over the last four years. Since the launch of our own brand business in 2013, we’ve expanded our workforce and infrastructure both here in the UK and at our global headquarters and manufacturing facility just outside Seoul, as well as opening regional headquarters in the Middle East and the US. The new facilities in Brentford mean that we can continue to deliver world-class sales and technical support at a local level both now and in the years to come.”

Training Room 3

Last year also saw Sean Um join the IDIS Europe team following an eight-year tenure at the IDIS global headquarters in various product and sales roles. In his new position as product manager, Um works closely with system integrators, installers and end users to drive the IDIS product road map. His remit is to work at a local level to understand the needs of European customers and ensure a continuous cycle of innovation that builds upon the IDIS signature of easy-to-use and high performance surveillance.

Song, added: “Since joining us last year, Sean has been instrumental in liaising with our product planning and development team in South Korea. His appointment has ensured that we continue to bring new products and technologies to market that deliver improvements upon common industry offerings that strengthen security and improve the user experience.”

IDIS will showcase its core technologies, including the flagship DirectIP offering (a true plug-and-play solution that eliminates the complexity of installing and operating networked surveillance), at this year’s IFSEC International. The show runs at London’s ExCeL from 20-22 June. IDIS can be found on Stand G700. The business will be celebrating 20 years of innovation.

SSAIB’s 2016 Installer Forum at BT Tower sold out in record time

The Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB), the fire, security and telecare certification body, has taken just eight hours to fill all 70 places available at its upcoming Installer Forum, which powered by IFSEC International and hosted by BT Redcare.

The 2016 Installer Forum is one of many similar seminars being held by SSAIB around the UK and Ireland this year, and the 4 May London event will be SSAIB’s third consecutive annual visit to the prestigious BT Tower.

Kicking off with a wide-ranging and informative update on standards and other topics from SSAIB’s CEO, Alex Carmichael, the half-day seminar will move on to a review of signalling technology presented by BT Redcare. Professional solutions specialist Citation will then provide an overview of Health and Safety issues before handing over to Tony Porter, the Surveillance Camera Commissioner, for his own presentation.

There will also be points of view from both a security manager’s and an insurer’s perspective before the morning closes with a market insight session chaired by United Business Media.

Delegates will then be invited to lunch in the BT Tower’s famous 34th Floor revolving restaurant, which is over 500 feet above ground level.

“Our third Installer Forum at the BT Tower in May is part of the SSAIB’s rolling programme of regional seminar events and other exhibition attendances being held across Britain and Ireland,” commented the organisation’s sales and marketing manager Andrew Brown. “This year alone we’ve already been to Durham, Bolton, Rotherham, Essex and Canterbury. In early April, we also visited the Titanic Centre in Belfast before moving on to the Redcow Moran Hotel in Dublin.”

Brown continued: “On 13 April we’ll be welcoming delegates at Hampden Park in Glasgow for Expo Scotland, while the month rounds out at our North East Expo which is being held at Kingston Park, the home of Newcastle Falcons. In May, we’ll be at Expo West Midlands at Wolverhampton Racecourse. Just a month later, the SSAIB takes its annual stand at the three-day IFSEC International event being staged again at ExCeL London from 21-23 June.”
