Intergrated Security Manufacturing reports on successful Security and Policing event

Intergrated Security Manufacturing (ISM) has hailed the success of Security and Policing 2018, the official UK Government global security event, reporting positive interest in its latest Integrated Security Management System (ISMS): a technology that takes Physical Information Management (PSIM) technology to “another level”.

The three-day event hosted at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre was the perfect opportunity for ISM to showcase its Genesys ISMS, a fully-integrated security management system capable of integrating and controlling multiple technologies, devices and sites from a single platform.

Attendees at Security and Policing 2018 included representatives from various police services, Government departments and the Emergency Services, key providers of national infrastructure and organisations from across the UK and overseas.

Genesys is the ideal ISMS platform for operators of Critical National Infrastructure sites. It’s already proven and operating in sites across the world. ISM recently received formal notification from the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) that Genesys has met its standard for CAPSS, which means that this solution is ‘Approved for UK Government Use’.

Geoff Pye, commercial director at ISM, enthused: “Security and Policing 2018 was the perfect platform to showcase Genesys, and particularly so following our recent CPNI approval for use of the system on UK Government sites. The event attracts the right audience and we received some very positive feedback.”

Harper Chalice’s systems now integrate with ISM’s Genesys PSIM solution

Harper Chalice has announced that its range of perimeter security systems are now able to fully integrate with the Genesys Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) manufactured by Intergrated Security Manufacturing (ISM).

Genesys is the culmination of thousands of man-hours, engineering excellence and patent-approved application. It’s a fully-integrated PSIM system capable of integrating multiple solutions. Interoperability is enabled from one holistic platform. Genesys encompasses high levels of functionality, exceptional ease of use, graceful redundancy and advanced alarm handling.

The Genesys system works on a network of Windows 7 or Windows 10-compatible PC workstations. These have overall control of all electronic security systems installed at each site.

The Genesys System integrates Harper Chalice’s network system, namely SecureBus. The integration allows for centralised monitoring and control of all of the perimeter intrusion detection systems in the latter’s range.

The SecureBus network not only provides complete control and monitoring of the systems in the field, but also affords live system feedback and the ability to adjust alarm settings and thresholds. This provides better management of the overall security systems as well as helping to reduce maintenance costs through proactive management of the systems.

Harper Chalice’s managing director Chris Hackett said: “This integration is another example of the developments we’re making to our systems. We’re moving forward with integration partnerships to provide our customers with improved functionality and system performance.”

Hackett added: “Understanding that our clients have to consider not only capital cost of the systems, but also the full life costs, we’re continually looking at ways in which to minimise these costs, while also increasing the value added in our overall solutions.”

Stephen Smith, ISM’s managing director, responded: “We’re very pleased to add Harper Chalice integration into our Genesys integrated security management platform, allowing high levels of integration and control from this excellent technology. It has been a pleasure working with Chris and his team to provide a comprehensive integration. It’s always refreshing when the protocol is well documented and offers high levels of control to provide the end user with an excellent and comprehensive experience.”

ISM heralds success of ‘Technology Days’ aimed at promoting benefits of PSIM in the Middle East

Intergrated Security Manufacturing (ISM) has hosted the first of a series of ‘Technology Days’ in Oman to demonstrate the design, development and thinking behind the latest Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) technology.

The company, whose Genesys PSIM platform is already installed in a number of high security sites throughout the Middle East, organised the events to promote the key considerations in specifying a PSIM solution: system architecture (ie how the system works, its resilience/redundancy and the impact of networks, etc), ease of use (including the simplicity of operator training) and life-cycle costs (as well as the overall return on investment).

ISMTechnologyDaysMiddleEast

Petri Hitches, ISM’s sales manager for the Middle East, enthused that the response to the presentations has been overwhelming. “The days were designed to be informative and educational, to heighten the awareness of what today’s PSIM systems are able to achieve and what makes a project successful. They were extremely well received.”

Audiences included high ranking officials from the regulators and local law enforcement agencies, as well as consultants, security integrators and end users responsible for various critical infrastructure projects.

The Technology Days were in part co-hosted by Ingenuity Technologies LLC of Oman.

ISM intends to organise and announce further dates later in the year.

Intergrated Security Manufacturing to exhibit Genesys PSIM technology at ISC West

Intergrated Security Manufacturing (ISM) – a leader in the design, development and manufacture of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) technology – is to show the latest version of its proven Genesys security management system at ISC West 2015 in Las Vegas, which runs from 15-17 April. The company will be present in Booth 31108.

Genesys v2 is a technology designed by engineers who have a firm understanding of the commercial security market and which delivers “exceptional” levels of functionality, performance and ease of use for system installations both large and small.

Steve Smith, managing director of ISM, explained that the business continues to invest significantly in technology and R&D and is expanding the use and application of Genesys into new markets.

“The US provides a significant growth opportunity for our PSIM technology,” said Smith, “and notably in Homeland Security applications to protect critical infrastructure, embassies and data centres. There’s also a market in new vertical sectors including casinos.”

Smith continued: “Whatever the size of the installation or the opportunity, Genesys is fully scalable and able to ‘flex’ in line with a client’s needs.”

Genesys allows the integration of multiple systems from multiple manufacturers – all from one holistic integrated security system. Every electronic security or fire safety device from CCTV and intruder alarms to electronic locking and Public Address can be monitored and controlled from a single platform.

Control migration in practice

Most importantly, Genesys features Migrating 3+ technology, a patented automatic failover technology that adds higher levels of automatic configurable redundancy and power. Control is effectively distributed across multiple workstations:

“We take power to your PC and multiple it by the number of PCs on your network,” stated Smith. “What this means is that if one PC fails, control is migrated to another PC on a seamless basis with no interruption or downtime. Our system is not restricted in its performance by the size or capability of a server, nor does it require the expense of moving to server farms or using clustering software.”

Genesys is a ‘true’ PSIM system built around intuitive software that combine a range of industry leading features and benefits including an enhanced graphical user experience and 3-D modelling as well as a comprehensive event management database.

Events and alarms are presented to the operator clearly as and when they happen.

The PSIM software operates as a standalone platform over LAN or WAN networks for remote and local sites with workstations that can be transferred to any operating Security Control Room on the network. This offers end users flexibility when closing down sites or buildings for off-peak or out of normal working hours (or in the unlikely event of any system failures).
