AlproMAX7 mechanical mortice deadlocks secure maximum rating

Alpro, the independent supplier of door access control and hardware, has launched a new range of ultra-secure mechanical mortice deadlocks designated the AlproMAX7.

Independently tested under extreme physical attack by test and certification house Element Materials Technology, the AlproMAX7 complies with BS EN 12209, the most stringent British and European Standard for mechanically-operated locks, latches and locking plates.

The AlproMAX7 has been tested to the most stringent classification regarding security, Grade 7, which is denoted as ‘very high security with drill resistance’. As well as being tested to withstand a side load of up to 10 kilonewtons, the new locks were subject to a five-minute constant attack with a drill.

AlproMAX7

The most likely sources of attack are would-be intruders armed with hand-held tools and cordless drills. The drill-resistant and completely sealed case on the AlproMAX7 means that, even if the door were attacked with a drill, it prevents access to the internal mechanism of the lock. With an upgraded cylinder and an external escutcheon, intruders would also be unable to attack from the most commonly used angle.

Evaluation of the new lock at the testing facility also included salt spray testing, function during temperature changes and durability testing.

Products tested to British and European Standards provide greater durability, longer warranty periods, peace of mind and evidence of professional specification.

Alpro is offering a seven-year manufacturer’s guarantee with this product.

The AlproMAX7 offers fabricators and engineers 30 mm and 40 mm backset options and has been designed to retrofit existing hook locks without any modification to the lock, door or frame.

Peter Keen, sales director at Alpro, explained: “Alpro has invested significantly in R&D to realise the AlproMAX7. We’re excited to be able to offer our customers and end users an increased level of door security and the peace of mind that goes with it.”

Keen added: “While the AlproMAX7 fills a void in high-security, mission-critical applications, its price and features are also finding favour in other applications. Furthermore, we believe we’re the only manufacturer to have an independently tested Europrofile cylinder mechanical deadlock that complies with BS EN 12209 Grade 7.”

The AlproMAX7 is specifically designed for aluminium and steel doors for the commercial market.

Hadley Group brings latest batch of fencing solutions to FENCEX 2018

Hadley Group, a global manufacturer of cold roll-formed sections and profiles, will be showcasing its innovative range of fully-engineered security fencing solutions at FENCEX 2018. End users visiting the event should head for Stand 2 on Wednesday 17 October at the NEAC at Stoneleigh Exhibition Park in Warwickshire.

Hadley Group’s cold-rolled steel fencing systems provide an optimum strength-to-weight ratio ensuring maximum durability, easier handling and faster installation. The systems are designed and manufactured by the company’s own in-house cold roll-form profile design team.

On display at FENCEX will be the manufacturer’s UltraFence system, the first complete cold-rolled engineered palisade fencing system where every component has been specifically designed to optimise strength-to-weight ratio. Lighter, stronger and more economical than alternatives, the product is also generally quicker to install. The system is made up of three main components – UltraPost, UltraRail and UltraPale – to ensure an attractive and robust perimeter fencing solution.

Hadley Group’s railing system, designated UltraBar, will also be presented at FENCEX. It’s a system that has been designed for easy erection with pre-assembled panels that simply bolt into place. Featuring Hadley Group’s patented raking joint system, UltraBar affords the installer the desired angle on an instant and effortless basis.

Aesthetically pleasing, traditionally styled and cost-effective, the railings are ideal for parks and outdoor recreational facilities.

Finally, Hadley Group will also be showcasing its UltraSecure system. This fencing system features steel slats fixed between each pale to offer heightened levels of defence, thereby providing an extremely strong and secure perimeter. The security system is available in two forms: solid for applications requiring total privacy, or perforated where good surveillance of the premises is required.

All of Hadley Group’s fencing systems are worldwide patent protected and compliant with the relevant British Standards.

HadleyGroupUltraSecure

Adam Lyness, sales manager at Hadley Group, will be on the stand to offer practical insight and product advice throughout the day. “FENCEX is a unique exhibition where we can really demonstrate our wide range of fencing systems,” said Lyness in conversation with Risk Xtra. “We can provide fencing solutions for any environment, whether that’s for a playground area or properties that need high security. With over 50 years of experience, innovation and expertise, we’re looking forward to helping visitors learn more about us and what Hadley Group’s fencing solutions can do for them.”

The only UK exhibition dedicated to perimeter security, fencing and access control, FENCEX is staged once every two years and attracts trade delegates from all over the UK and Europe. A must-attend event for contractors, specifiers, security procurement experts, local authority officers, architects, leisure facility managers, highway specialists and statutory bodies alike, the exhibition is designed to present all of the latest products and services in the field.

Fire 360° service from Bull Products begins with free site survey

Bull Products has just launched its Fire 360° service for construction companies. Fire 360° is a 12-step plan designed to provide companies with an effective and comprehensive fire strategy.

From an initial enquiry to Bull Products, a BAFE-certified advisor will arrange to attend a given site within 48 hours, accurately assess requirements and provide expert advice on fire safety strategy. Site plans are fully assessed by the engineer and clearly marked, duly outlining what fire protection is required and where it should be located, saving valuable time and ensuring that the site is compliant.

Following on from the site visit, Bull Products returns quotations within one hour and subsequent orders are acknowledged within an hour of receipt.

Ensuring compliance

Once commissioned for a specific project, Bull Products ensures that all of its products are fully serviced and/or programmed to ensure compliance as soon as the equipment arrives on site. Configuration of alarms can take place before systems are sent out or on site if there’s an addition to an existing system.

bullproductsfire360service

To ensure peace of mind, all fire equipment supplied meets all relevant standards with full certification of the alarm systems. Portable fire appliances are installed and serviced in accordance with the relevant British Standard.

Once the fire equipment is fully installed and commissioned, Bull Products is able to train site personnel in the use of fire extinguishers and on alarm system familiarisation so that it can be used to its full potential and eliminate any user error and false alarms.

Nationwide technical support

To back up its professional expertise with fire equipment, Bull Products provides nationwide technical support for all areas of construction from 6.00 am to 5.00 pm every day in order to assist with any site queries.

On becoming a Bull Products customer, an automatic servicing schedule will be in place designed to remind the client when their equipment is due for servicing to ensure compliance throughout the project.

Another bonus of the Fire 360° plan is that Bull Products can take care of asset management. Under this part of the service, once the fire protection equipment has been finished with on a project, Bull Products is able to arrange equipment collection from site for free of charge, subsequently stock holding it until there’s a need for re-use on a future project. This extremely useful service saves end user companies having to find space to store the fire equipment themselves, while equipment re-use clearly saves on the purchase of new solutions.

Bull Products also cleans and services all fire protection equipment before it’s sent to the next project in order to ensure that it remains compliant.

*Further information on the Fire 360° service is available from Bull Products on the website: www.bullproducts.co.uk
