Eaton’s security business expands touchpoint to include new website and rewards scheme

Eaton’s Security business has announced the launch of its new look touchpoint website and rewards scheme. As well as providing its customers with access to first class online information and technical support, Eaton now offers security installers and alarm engineers the chance to participate in a brand new rewards-based incentive scheme whereby they can collect touchpoints and choose from a selection of great prizes.

touchpoint will continue to provide a range of services specifically designed to help installers derive the best outcomes from Eaton’s security business products and systems. In addition, the company has developed a new online portal with a more intuitive design so that information may be accessed more quickly and easily.

Installation manuals can be downloaded and a new product compatibility feature even suggests devices that can work together in the same system.

Free-to-join, touchpoint still offers installers access to numerous other benefits such as product education, post-sales telephone-based technical advice and support and a web browser allowing remote access to control panels from anywhere in the world.

Regular software updates can also be downloaded, in turn allowing alarm systems to operate to the latest performance and regulatory standards.

Various products will be rewarded with points throughout the year. touchpoints are accumulated by entering a code into an installer’s online account. All of the rewards can be accessed online, allowing members to save up for a particular item.

Products that are available include Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One game consoles, High Street vouchers, TVs, home entertainment systems, experience days, cameras, coffee makers and watches.

A range of highly desirable Apple products is up for grabs too, including iPads, iPad Minis, iPod Touches and iPod Nanos.

Eaton’s security business will regularly update and refresh the reward range.

Trystan Bevan, UK sales manager at Eaton’s security business, commented: “We’re incredibly proud of the benefits that being part of the touchpoint initiative brings to our valued customers. I firmly believe that the improvements initiated by us make it an even more attractive proposition. The ability to collect touchpoints and redeem them for some excellent rewards makes it the complete information, technical support and rewards package.”

WebWayOne alarm handling solutions installed at Tavcom’s Training Centre

Students participating in one of Tavcom Training’s Alarm Systems courses will be able to gain practical hands-on experience of alarm handling within a Control Room environment thanks to equipment donated by WebWayOne.

The equipment installed in the Control Room operators’ testing area at Tavcom’s Training Centre in Bishops Waltham includes Communicator Pro and Mini devices, as well as WebWayWorld web access in order for students to familiarise themselves with the commissioning and support of IP and 2G/3G communication.

Six WebWay communicators are fully operational and signalling to test accounts at Southern Monitoring’s Alarm Receiving Centre in Waterlooville, with remote access via MASWeb to view alarm delivery in real time.

The communicators are serially connected to Honeywell Galaxy and Texecom Intruder panels and can take advantage of SIA3 signalling which includes the support of remote servicing and diagnostics.

Putting theory into practice

“As the leading provider of security systems training, we are always looking to use the latest available technology to enhance the effectiveness of our training courses by offering students opportunities to immediately put theory into practice,” said Paul Tennent, managing director of Tavcom Training. “We’re therefore very grateful to WebWayOne for its support in providing ATS equipment. We will certainly be able to put it to good use in all of our Alarm Systems-related training courses which we will be conducting during 2015.”

Tavcom currently offers over 70 regularly scheduled training courses ranging from one-day seminars to five-day, fully-residential programmes. The courses are designed to meet the training requirements of security professionals at all levels, from foundation courses for those with little or no previous experience through to highly advanced programmes for Control Room supervisors, security managers and company executives.

The wide range of technical and non-technical courses covers all security systems-related fields including security management, Control Room operations, system planning and project management, structured cabling, disaster recovery and covert CCTV.
