Vista adds new end user-focused features and functions to Viper family

Vista has added new features and functions to the Viper range of NVRs, DVRs and associated matrix controllers. The Viper family was launched back in July last year and Vista is continually working on developing the range in line with customer requirements and feedback to ensure that “the perfect solution” can be offered.

Although the range is under continuous development, the overall purpose of the Viper family is to provide a multi-format recording platform, allowing end users to pull together Viper HD analogue DVRs and Viper IP NVRs into a single, seamless system.

The Viper virtual matrix controller affords end users complete control of the system through the uniform and intuitive central management software. The flexible range gives end users the opportunity to upgrade their systems at their own pace, with Vista providing high quality service throughout the process.

The latest addition to the range is Viper Remote, the App that allows operators to be in constant contact with their security system. The App provides alarm notifications straight to the user’s device, affords the ability to view live and recorded images remotely, offers various display options and also an intuitive navigation system.

Wide-ranging search options ensure that time is saved when reviewing footage and that important security events can be found with ease. The App also allows for the management of devices in the system providing the opportunity to add and remove devices whenever necessary from any remote location.

Vista has also been working to enhance the functionality of the H5 range of NVRs. The latest development is the de-warping function that allows 360 degree camera images to be seen in a more user-friendly, 180 degree view. This helps to improve the end user experience by making reviewing images as simple as possible.

In response to ‘Voice of Customer’ feedback and suggestions, Vista has been working on making the range compatible with Immix. This is another hugely beneficial function which is on its way.

Bob Forehand, Vista’s technical manager, explained to Risk UK: “The Viper family is an incredibly flexible range that allows end users to ‘mix-and-match’ Viper units, combining both IP and analogue systems. The flexibility of the range means that the solution can be developed over time, saving on upfront costs and accounting for the requirements of growing or developing systems. The addition of Viper Remote, Viper Central and the upcoming introduction of Immix make the already differentiated and comprehensive offering even more inviting.”

Electronic IP access control and door entry systems specialist Paxton has been named as one of the UK’s top employers with its 49th placed ranking in The Sunday Times’ 100 Best Companies to Work for 2018 listing.

The annual survey run by the ‘Best Companies’ organisation recognises those organisations and managers who genuinely value and respect their employees. Paxton is the only security manufacturer included on the prestigious list.

The ranking was achieved following direct feedback provided by Paxton employees covering key areas of leadership: My Manager, My Company, Personal Growth, My Team, Well-Being, Fair Deal and Giving Something Back.

Highlights from the employee survey provide an excellent insight into what it’s like to work at the company. 96% of staff believe they can make a valuable contribution to the success of the company. 93% agree that the organisation is run on strong values and principles 90% of those taking part in the survey feel proud to work for Paxton.

Commenting on the news, Adam Stroud (Paxton’s CEO) said: “We’re absolutely delighted to feature on this extremely prestigious list. This is the first time we have entered, so to appear at number 49 is a fantastic achievement. It’s a wonderful milestone in Paxton’s journey, embodying our ambition to be world-class in all that we do and encompassing everything from our products and services to our working environment. We’ve worked hard to develop a positive company culture and to support our staff on each step of their career with us. Due to rapid expansion and year-on-year business growth over the last two decades, three years has been the average time taken for Paxton to double in size. We’re now a sizeable company with over 300 employees. The incredible growth rate continues stronger than ever.”

Stroud concluded: “However, while hard work, focus, investment and a good strategy are essential to the success of the company, most important of all by a long way are the people that work for Paxton. I would like to personally thank all members of the Paxton team. They’ve been responsible for our success to date, and will continue to determine the extent of our future successes.”

Revader Security to demonstrate enhanced mobile CCTV system capabilities at Security and Policing 2018

Mobile CCTV manufacturer Revader Security will be demonstrating its new and improved redeployable cameras and mobile surveillance tower at Security and Policing 2018, which takes place at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre on 6-8 March.

The company’s specialist security products are engineered to perform in harsh environments. They’re straightforward to install in virtually any location and can be rapidly repositioned to respond to changing security demands. Power options include mains, battery, Power over Ethernet (PoE), diesel and renewable sources.

The company will be presenting two new products at the show – a new mobile CCTV tower and a compact redeployable CCTV solution.

RevaderSecurityMobileCCTV

The Galaxy Mobile CCTV Tower is a complete outdoor surveillance solution on wheels which acts as an all-seeing ‘eye in the sky’. The product incorporates four high-end HD cameras set at 360° for 30-metre viewing, a single HD PTZ camera with 150-metre viewing, night vision capability, sensors, alarm inputs, audio, wireless/4G connectivity with dual SIM architecture, extensive local storage, remote monitoring/download and several power options ranging from battery through to diesel.

The CCTV tower is primarily intended for overt deployment by law enforcement and security operators in remote or hazardous locations or at public events and demonstrations. It has also attracted interest for use as a cost-effective solution for construction site CCTV and security guarding replacement in high security areas.

In parallel, Revader Security’s new compact redeployable CCTV solution, designated the Tuu, is constructed from high-grade aluminium or stainless steel and suitable for use in harsh IP67/IP68-rated environments. The Tuu network combines HD PTZ or 360° cameras with 5 TB on-board storage and PoE single cabling.

The units are ideally suited for use by the police, the military and Government customers for evidential recording in custody suites, bio-hazard units and interview rooms and at  operating bases. They’re also a cost-effective option for general purpose indoor and outdoor CCTV, offering end users the ability to rapidly reposition the cameras according to changing surveillance demands and operational requirements.

Stuart Caldecourt, managing director at Revader Security, told Risk UK: “We’re looking forward to demonstrating our enhanced redeployable CCTV solutions to police and Government customers at this important event. We’ve already had a great deal of interest in our new mobile CCTV towers from security operators wishing to replace traditional security guarding with a more cost-effective and reliable alternative. We’re also continuing to impress customers with our ruggedised and redeployable CCTV cameras which are being used in an ever-growing range of scenarios, from construction sites and quarries through to town centres and even in high security laboratories.”
