Custom Consoles to display latest SteelBase and Media Wall at IFSEC International 2014

Custom Consoles returns to IFSEC International, which will be held from Tuesday 17 June-Thursday 19 June at ExCeL London. The company’s latest SteelBase security and process control furniture and Media Wall modular video mounting system will be on display.

“Custom Consoles furniture is used for many applications, including air traffic control, airport security, emergency response centres, road traffic monitoring and public space surveillance,” explained sales manager Gary Fuller.

“Clients appreciate the strength, ergonomic excellence and modern styling of our desks and storage furniture. They’re also aware that we lead the market in terms of design innovation. Sometimes copied but never surpassed by our competitors.”

Fuller stated that a key factor in Custom Consoles’ success is careful attention to details such as cable management, ventilation and equipment access.

“We will also be showing examples of the Ergotron range of user-adjustable flat-panel monitor display supports,” said Fuller, “and a KAB controller chair.”

Detail on the SteelBase

Custom Consoles’ SteelBase is a range of high durability technical desks which can be configured to provide an ergonomically efficient working environment for any size of Control Room.

SteelBase desks are built using high-grade MDF on 19-inch steel base frames with powder-coated, textured-grey vertical panels.

SteelBase desktops are surfaced in a choice of hard-wearing laminate, marmoleum or Trespa. Additional design features of the range include hinged removable access doors, 19-inch equipment racking, sliding equipment trays, heavy cable management, PC sliding mounts, power distribution and data panels as well as variable-speed ventilation fans.

SteelBase desks can be specified for single or multi-operator environments. Worktops may be rectangular or curved, including angled or curved corners and optional curved front profile side panels.

All elements of the desks are guaranteed against component failure for five years of normal use. SteelBase has been tested by FIRA and certified to conform with ISO9241 Part 5, ISO11064 Part 4 and EN527 Parts 1, 2 and 3.

Media Wall: robust and efficient

Custom Consoles’ Media Wall is a robust and efficient multi-screen video display mounting system. The latest version features a series of enhancements including narrower front-to-back depth (which has been reduced from 600 to 500 millimetres).

Like its predecessor, the new Media Wall is fully self-supporting and retains the option of adding coupling brackets directly to the studio wall.

Freely adjustable horizontal and vertical screen spacing allows individual flat-panel screens to be positioned so that their edges meet exactly.

Cable management within Media Wall is now along ducts with finger-trunking slots.
