“Environmental credentials are important when choosing a security provider” states Magenta Security

The environmental credentials of a security provider should be ‘front of mind’ when end users are choosing a company with which to work. That’s the view of Abbey Petkar, managing Director of Magenta Security.

In Magenta’s new White Paper entitled ‘Managing Your Security’, Petkar highlights key criteria that businesses should look at when choosing their security provider. He believes the environment is increasing in importance for customers, with Magenta having successfully won several contracts due to its green credentials.

Magenta Security is considered one of the most environmentally friendly companies in the security industry. It was the first security guarding company in Europe to be awarded certification to ISO 14001:2004 and was the first security company in the UK to become carbon neutral.

Most recently, Magenta has invested in state-of-the-art electric cars: long-term investment which will significantly reduce the company’s carbon footprint as well as vehicle running costs.

The company has twice won the Environmental Initiative of the Year category at the Security Excellence Awards for its commitment to the green agenda and has advised other security companies on how to improve their own environmental strategies.

“When selecting a security company to work with, clients should consider a wide range of criteria, including environmental credentials,” said Abbey Petkar. “We’ve always taken pioneering steps to promote green improvements as a part of our wider policies because CSR, sustainability and environmental issues are really important to clients, and this has been demonstrated by the number of contracts we have won because of the green policies we have in place. The aim of my guide is to help clients consider everything in relation to selecting a security provider and helping them make an informed decision.”
